Cardinals looking to add depth to the tight end position by bringing in TE/FB James Casey 30, (6’3, 240) for a visit this week. Casey was released by the Eagles on February 19, after signing a three-year deal for 14.6 million in 2013.
Last year the Cardinals signed TE John Carlson signed a two-year, $4.65 million contract just before the start free agency last year (March 7th, 2013). They also drafted Troy Niklas in second round, and like the develop of Darren Fells and Andre Hardy. Plus former third round Rob Housler is unrestricted free agent and won’t be on the roster in 2015.
Casey the former fifth round pick was initially drafted by the Texans in 2009, has played in 92 games, and started 23, could also play H-back when the Cardinals go with the jumbo package.
