Antonio Brown Calls Saints Workout A 'Publicity Stunt'

New England Patriots Practice

Free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown ripped the NFL for dragging their feet while investigating him for allegedly sexually assaulting his former trainer. Brown remains unsigned and blames the NFL for his current situation.

"I really am at peace. I just don't like the lack of respect in the world," Brown said in a video on Instagram. "Everyone has deadlines, but I guess the NFL don't have a deadline for me."

While the NFL decided not to place Brown on the commissioner's exempt list while he remains a free agent, they cautioned teams his status could change if he signs a contract.

Brown spoke about his recent workout with the New Orleans Saints, calling it a "publicity stunt."

"So I appreciate [Saints coach] Sean Payton and them guys for supporting me to bring me out to work out. But I think it was a publicity stunt for them. Sean Payton knows the feeling of being left behind."

The Saints did not offer a contract to Brown following the workout.

Brown said he would continue to work out and stay in shape in hopes of returning to the NFL.

"But it is what it is. ... I'm not gonna make excuses. I'm just gonna keep competing to be the difference, 'cuz I know I'm the difference."
