We all love a good bench clearing brawl especially if it happens in a rivalry game as it did on Friday night in Los Angeles.
The Dbacks beat the Dodgers 3-2 thanks to two home runs from catcher Carson Kelly in the ninth and 11th innings. Archie Bradley came into to the ballgame in the 11th inning and struck out his final batter to secure the win. Then things got nuts.
It’s clear Archie started chirping at someone in the Dodgers dugout and things escalated from there. Before the criticism comes in we can definitely agree that actually seeing some passion from this Dbacks team is a great sign. That level of passion from Archie is something we haven’t seen from this team all season and they are going to need more of it to somehow sneak their way into a wild card spot.
Which brings up the point about why Archie needed to chill out and just take the win, Head back into the dugout and go after the Dodgers again the next day. The Dbacks are currently 17 games out in the NL West and the Dodgers have been the best team in the MLB all season while the Dbacks are 59-57 and have several teams ahead of them in the wild card race. The passion is cool but next time Archie wants to instigate a fight he needs to not try and pick a fight with his older, stronger brother.
