Nick Foles Should Be a Backup Quarterback for the Rest of His Career

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles is better suited as a backup quarterback in the NFL on the heels of his humiliating performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13 that effectively handed the starting quarterback job to rookie Gardner Minshew for the rest of the season.

Foles went 7 of 14 for 93 yards, an interception and two lost fumbles in Jacksonville’s disastrous first half that saw the Bucs lead 25-0 through two quarters.

After being benched, Minshew came in and led the Jags to 11 unanswered points and got the Jaguars to the Bucs goal line with a chance to get within one score late in the game, but was intercepted in the end zone.

On Monday the Jaguars announced that Minshew would start the remaining four games.

Just nine months ago Foles signed a four-year deal with the Jaguars worth $88 million, including $50.1 million guaranteed. Foles had obviously garnered an incredibly respectable reputation after filling in for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz during the 2017 season, and going on one of the most improbable Super Bowl runs of all time that included a thrilling shootout victory over Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Check out the video above as Colin details why it’s time to accept the sad reality that Foles is simply FOOL’S GOLD
