CFB Week 8 Picks

The betting public was spoiled on Thursday with the 27th Sports Equinox in the history of mankind.

A heavenly scenario where there was NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and most importantly, COLLEGE FOOTBALL action on the same day.

Short of world peace, there are very few things better than being able to bet on all of those, simultaneously. You need to cherish these moments.

You also need to cherish the fact that we are already in Week 8 of the college football season - basically halfway over. We need to remain as calm as Michael Scott was when Dwight initiated a fire drill.

Let's win some money.

Last week (---)

*due to the author of this article attending the funeral of the 2022 Los Angeles dodgers (supposedly) greatest season in franchise history.*

Record to date: (10-2-9)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Purdue (+2.5) at Wisconsin

Outside of Braelon Allen, who has been on campus in Madison since he was fifteen, what can you say about the Badgers offense? I realize it's the middle of October and the newly minted interim coach - Jim Leonhard - wants to keep his team bowl eligible.

Purdue's run defense has been effective all season. I'm taking the Boilermakers (+2.5). They'll hang around.

UCLA at Oregon - u70.5

I'm going to hate myself for this bet. Similar to how the public is going to hate Netflix in 2023 when the streaming platform giant starts charging you for password sharing. UMMM, RED ALERT!!!

I digress.

UCLA has been a blast to watch this season. Oregon has rebounded since getting smoked by Georgia in early September. This pains me so much. Each team is averaging over 40 points per game. Both teams are coming off of a bye week. We anticipated an offensive shootout between USC and Oregon State earlier this month and it failed to live up. I just have this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach, defense will play its role this afternoon. The public's going to smash the over so we are going to fade here. Betting the under is bad for your health - u70.5, ugh...

Arizona State (+3) at Stanford

It's unfortunate that we have to stop making fun of the Stanford FBS losing streak after last weekend at Notre Dame stadium.

What a time that was. It's like that one friend in your group chat that continuously gets roasted but eventually has a good rebuttal that gets a bunch of "Likes" or "HAHA's."

It was emotional for the school and fanbase.

Now, the Cardinal faces a frisky (at times) Sun Devil team that has been rejuvenated since Shaun Aguano took over. ASU (+3).

Kansas State (+3.5) at TCU

Early rumblings of TCU potentially winning the Big 12 Championship game are starting.

Fine?

They survived OT with Oklahoma State, knocked out Kansas, and tortured the Sooners. KSU did the same which seems like more of an indictment on Oklahoma.

Give me Kansas State (+3.5). According to ESPN, the Wildcats are (3-6) ATS as an underdog since 2020. In the same season, KSU beat TCU at their place.

No Sports Equinox today. Still a great college slate.

Can we anticipate the Sports Betting planet aligning with these other picks today?

Texas Tech (-5)

Liberty (+7)

Oklahoma State (+6.5)

LSU ML (-110)

Penn State (-4.5)

Boise State (+2.5)

PVO!!!
