What makes a place special? The "it" factor that sets it apart from all others and makes it a spot that you would want to settle down and make a home for yourself. Entertainment venues, a wide array of restaurants, affordable prices, job opportunities — whatever "it" may be depends on each person, but one county in Arizona was named as the best place to live in the entire state.
According to a list compiled by 24/7 Wall St., the "best county" to live in in Arizona is Maricopa County, which has a median household income of $72,944 (compared to the $65,913 state average) and a life expectancy of 80.0 years. Additionally, the poverty rate for this area is 12%, compared to the state average of 13.9%.
Here's what the site had to say about the best county in Arizona to call home:
"Home to the city of Phoenix, Maricopa is by [far] the most populous county in Arizona — and also the best place to live in in the state. One reason for the county's rank is the area's relatively low poverty rate of 12.0%, which is nearly the lowest of any county in the state and below the 13.5% poverty rate in Arizona as a whole. Additionally, life expectancy in the county is half a year longer than it is across the state as whole."
