Phoenix Suns GM Ryan McDonough joined Jody Oehler on The Drive to discuss the hiring of new head coach Igor Kokoskov. McDonough tells Jody the organization was impressed by Kokoskov's work with top NBA Draft prospect Luka Doncic while coaching the Slovenian national team.
"What he did with one of the top guys who's going to be the draft this year, in Luka Doncic. Luka at 18 years old, made the all-tournament team in the EuroBasket last year at the European championship. That's one of the things that stood out. We've done our homework on Igor, and talked to players that have worked with Igor, that he's great at maximizing everybody's potential, individually. But also he's not afraid to play young players."
