Larry Fitzgerald hit on every note eulogizing his friend, Senator John McCain. The Cardinals legend honored Senator McCain at his memorial service in Phoenix Thursday. Jody Oehler examines the heartfelt speech and believes Fitz nailed it.
"In my opinion, based on what I believe Senator John McCain represented for the state of Arizona, is exactly what Larry Fitzgerald represented for the state of Arizona today. Which was someone who represents class, someone who represents the best that the state has to offer and does so unflinchingly and with pride. That’s what Larry Fitzgerald inspired, and it’s the same thing Senator John McCain inspired in so many people across the state and the country. "
Larry enters his 15th season and The Drive host believes the NFL missed an opportunity promoting Fitz as the face of the league.
"Larry Fitzgerald should be the example that NFL holds for why you should be a fan of the National Football League."
"That to me was Larry Fitzgerald’s crowning moment as an athlete. The way he was able to deftly and so appropriately eulogize John McCain."
