Plummer: Start Sniffing Around A Peterson Deal

Former Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Jake Plummer believes the team should explore a trade for embattled star cornerback Patrick Peterson

"He's a hell of a player.  If he doesn't want to be here, I'd start sniffing around."

Plummer tells Jody Oehler on The Drive it's tough to move forward as a team if every player is not buying into the overall message of the franchise.

"The Snake" believes the Cards could help supplement a rebuild with the right deal

"They have a good young quarterback (Josh Rosen).  Surround him with a good supporting cast  of playmakers and guys that can protect him."

Plummer believes it's important for the Cardinals to find out what rookie quarterback Josh Rosen is capable of the remainder of the 2018 campaign.

"Find out what Rosen is comfortable doing.  Put him in a position to see what he's got."

He does not expect Byron Leftwich to reinvent the wheel as he replaces Mike McCoy at offensive coordinator.

"Sometimes when things get tough, you just get back to the basics."
