Former Arizona State and Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Jake Plummer says he has similar words of "inspiration" to his first huddle the words current Cards rookie Josh Rosen reportedly had on Sunday's 18-15 come from behind win.
My first huddle ever. Philadelphia, Veterans Stadium. We're on the two-yard line coming out. I got in the huddle, looked at the guys and said "We're taking this bleeping 98 yards." And went ahead and did it.
Cardinals offensive lineman D.J. Humphries says Rosen told the huddle on the game-winning drive "We're about to win this f---ing game." Plummer believes that inspires teammates and shows confidence from the first-year QB.
It's not cockiness, people. It's not over confidence. It's the fact that when you get in that situation that's what you believe. That's taking control.
Jake "The Snake" says he offered advice to Rosen going into the team's bye week
My advice to him was take care of your body and go free your mind.
Plummer was impressed by recently promoted offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich's debut.
I have to tip my hat to Byron Leftwich. I thought he did a great job of keeping that defense off balance and giving the offense a chance to get the ball in the playmakers hands.
Under Leftwich's play calling, Rosen went 12/18 passing for 150 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to score 15 unanswered points for the victory.
