N'Keal Harry - Won't Let Pac-12 South Slip Again

Arizona State star wide receiver and top NFL Draft prospect, N'Keal Harry tells Jody Oehler on The Drive that he and quarterback Manny Wilkins had a heart-to-heart following a tough loss to Stanford earlier in the season.

"After the Stanford game, Manny (Wilkins" and I had a very long conversation.  We figured out that it was a time to mature and not put any blame on anybody but ourselves.  We knew we weren’t performing to best of our abilities.  We’ll have no regrets looking back.  We don’t want to leave anything on that field."

The Devils are 2-and-0 since the loss to the Cardinal and owners of their own destiny.  If ASU wins its remaining games against UCLA, Oregon and Arizona it will in the Pac-12 South.  Harry says the team is remaining focused.

"We can’t get complacent this whole week because if we do a team (UCLA) like that is bound to come in and do some damage.  We just have to stay on our toes and make sure we’re well prepared for that game.

It’s definitely a week-by-week approach but we’ve definitely talked about it.  We can’t let this opportunity slip by us again.  I know we’ll be ready each week we take the field."

Harry had nine catches for 161 yards and three touchdowns in an upset victory over then-#15 ranked Utah.  The junior wide receiver says his hot play comes from wise words from his quarterback, Manny Wilkins.

"Manny (Wilkins) always tells me to just to “bet on yourself and trust in your training,” and that’s the mindset we’ve had and it’s been working for us.  My coaches and Manny (Wilkins) have put a lot of trust in me"

N'Keal has made a lot of big plays this season but tells Jody the favorite is the big 58-yard catch and run for a score against UTSA in the season opener.  Harry says his first season under head coach Herm Edwards has been.

We’re young men and we need that guidance and he (Herm Edwards) has been giving it to us.
