Plummer: Josh Rosen Is A Good Leader

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jake Plummer tells Jody Oehler on The Drive that the team isn't mailing in the finals games of the 2018 NFL season.  The Redbirds did the unthinkable and defeated the Green Bay Packers at historic Lambeau Field in December on Sunday, 20-17.

These guys are making sure that they're not the ones that are going to be told "Hey, you didn't go hard here, you're gone." Because this is such a fleeting time in their life to play at the highest level of a barbaric, rough, challenging and stressful sport.  You've got to take advantage of it.  If you show any lack of effort, you'r e going to stand out like a sore thumb.

Jake "The Snake" believes the Cards are being inspired by their rookie signal-caller, Josh Rosen.

We're seeing that Josh Rosen is a good leader.  That guys like him and want to succeed now so that hopefully they're around when he's an Aaron Rodgers-type quarterback.

Plummer liked what he saw from Rosen despite a lackluster boxscore.

Rosen was scrappy, he scrambled some and made some big throws.  The guys, I think, are buying into his mentality, most of all.

Plummer isn't buying into idea that the 2018 Cardinals would bottom out to improve their 2019 NFL Draft status and tanking the remainder of the season.

This is building for the future down the road, not trying to secure the first pick in the draft.  That's a bunch of... That's a mess.  That's how losers think.  You don't want to think that way.  You want to move down the draft board by winning some games and proving that you can and knowing you can trust and  count on guys that know there's no glorius end of the road and they're still going to ball out for me.  That's very valuable knowledge to have.

The former second round pick feels all the 3-and-9 Cardinals can do to change the culture is plug away until the final whistles blows on the tough season.

Change the narrative.  That's the only thing the players can do right now.

Plummer, the Arizona State legend isn't too bummed out the Sun Devils will  be without star wideout N'Keal Harry, who is moving on to the NFL.  Plummer is grateful for the opportunity to watch the futute NFL receiver play in the maroon and gold.

What a beautiful sight that the ASU contingent got to see in watching this kid (N'Keal Harry) blossom and still not reach his full potential yet, I don't think.  To grace us with some of that developement and amazing athleticism and fun plays to watch this year.

Despite Harry not playing, Plummer is excited for the Sun Devils appearance in the upcoming Las Vegas Bowl against Fresno State.

I'm excited just to see them play and end on a high note and prove the doubters wrong.  Then weclome them back in and say "C'mon in now, time to start jumpin' on the ship and believing in where this is going.
