Paul Goldschmidt is fitting right in with his new St. Louis Cardinals ball club. This is not a surprise to anyone since Goldy has shown nothing but being the consummate professional during his entire big league career. But outlined in a recent article on the Cardinals website, the six-time All-Star is enjoying himself early in his St. Louis tenure.
The ex-D-Backs first baseman was even waxing poetic about new teammate Yadier Molina, who once competed with Goldy for NL MVP and traded barbs with Snakes skipper, Torey Lovullo in 2018.
Arizona dealt Goldsmidt after eight seasons for catcher Carson Kelly, right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver, infielder Andy Young and a draft pick. The former eighth round pick hit .297 with 209 homers during his time in the desert while finishing in the top 3 of MVP voting three times.
