Russell Wilson, Bryce Harper, James Harden. What do these athletes have in common? They all weigh-in around 220-225 pounds. They're also stars in their respective sports and filthy rich, but that's besides the point. But they're about the same weight give or take a few LBs.
The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing from Indianapolis. All 32 teams are in attendance with their respective brain trust of scouts and front office decision makers. It's a hot bed for freakish displays of athleticism. With workouts just beginning, who has put forth the most insane performance yet?
Weber State offensive line prospect Iosua Opeta earned that badge Thursday by repping the 225-pound bench press 39(!) times. Opeta lifted Wilson, Harper and Harden nearly 40 times.
Despite the crazy amount of reps, Opeta is 10 short of the all-time record set by Stephen Paea back in 2011.
I would bet Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen/ Kyler Murray wouldn't mind a mauler like Opeta playing guard in Glendale next season and the foreseeable future.
