True story of how Larry Fitzgerald saved the NFL's Super Bowl Commercial

Cardinals fans are used to Larry Fitzgerald saving drives, games and even full seasons for the Cardinals. But Fitz saved something new in his career; a Super Bowl commercial.

Director Peter Berg was a guest on The Rich Eisen Show and dropped this bombshell about Larry Fitzgerald:

That's right, Larry Fitzgerald first ballot Hall of Fame WR and one of the greatest to ever line up at the position in NFL history may also have been one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Fitz pulled off what Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Terry Bradshaw, Patrick Mahomes and Eli Manning could not on set. He put the football exactly where it needed to be for Odell Beckham Jr to recreate his famous catch.

So instead of creative editing or digitally enhanced technology to create the scene they desperately wanted, they called upon Larry Fitzgerald. And Fitz nailed it in one take.

Fitz has famously had 19 different quarterbacks throwing him the ball in his 15 year NFL career, many of which wouldn’t be qualified to be extras on the set of the NFL 100 commercial.

Maybe the best quarterback Fitz could have played with some of those years was Larry Fitzgerald himself.
