Morant's Coach: Suns Would Be Insane to Pass on Ja

Murray State head basketball coach Matt McMahon thinks a team like the Phoenix Suns would be crazy to pass up drafting point guard Ja Morant.

Murant's coach tells Jody Oehler his case for the Racers guard over Duke phenom Zion Williamson while at Westwood One Final Four Radio Row in Minneapolis.

"If a team gets that number-one pick, and point guard is their need -- I think they'd be insane to pass up on this guy. He is a once in a generation talent, on and off the court.
I know Zion (Williamson) is the same for his position, but if you're in the need of a point guard it'd be so hard to pass up on Ja (Morant)."

McMahon believes Morant can improve his jump shot, which is one of the few criticisms about the All-American.

As a sophomore he also became the first player in NCAA history to average at least 20 points and 10 assists per game in a single season, but McMahon tells Jody there a few areas he can improve his game.

There aren't many knocks on the top 3 projected pick and McMahon reveals Morant is equally as impressive off-the-court.

McMahon wasn't just talking NBA Draft, Jody pressed on the hottest topic the sport, should the Cardinals draft Kyler Murray or move forward with Josh Rosen. The Murray State coach graduated in the class of 2000 at Appalachian State along with Daniel Jeremiah and deferred to the draft expert's take.
