My official 2020 NFL Draft Endorsement for Cardinals

After thoughtful consideration, consultation with my stir crazy family and too many Youtube videos, I'm ready to announce my official endorsement for the Arizona Cardinals and the 2020 NFL Draft.

Before I reveal the name, a quick reminder of my previous endorsements:

  • 2019 - Quinnen Williams (WHOOPS!)
  • 2018 - Lamar Jackson (Nice!)
  • 2017 - Adoree Jackson (Not bad!)
  • 2016 - Mackensie Alexander (Better than Nkemdiche!)
  • 2015 - Cameron Erving (Meh)

Without further ado, here is my official endorsement for 2020, which will be placed squarely on our Accountability Board:

2020: Mekhi Becton.

Becton is a 6'7, 360 pound monster of a man. He ran a 5.1 40 at the NFL Combine and possesses unnatural athleticism for someone who weighs 80 pounds heavier than Zion Williamson.

There are risks. His weight was a concern before the season. He has work to do as in pass protection. He might be too big for Kyler Murray. And he might black out the sun during games.

But his upside is transformational. He's already considered the best run blocking tackle available and his pure size makes him a baseline decent pass blocker. Becton is the kind of tackle that takes a long time Cardinals weakness and turns it into a one of a kind strength.

He clocks in on Daniel Jeremiah's Top 50 list as the 7th overall prospect. He would be getting some of the best coaching in the NFL in Cardinals OL coach Sean Kugler. And he has an outside chance of being the best player period in the draft.

There are four tackles at the top of the draft that all deserve serious consideration.

The Cardinals can't go wrong if they take any of them but they could also get it really right if they take Mekhi Becton.

Becton 2020. Its officially an official endorsement.
