The Arizona Cardinals Draft Board 1.0

Each week I will be posting my Arizona Cardinals Draft Board for the list of prospects I'd like to see them take when they are on the clock on Thursday, April 28th.

Assuming Steve Keim wakes up from his offseason hibernation, the Cardinals could be well positioned to add their most impactful offseason addition in this year's first round.

Don't forget you can join myself and Donovan McNabb for the Fox Sports 910 NFL Draft Show live from CAZ Sports Bar at Casino Arizona for live pick by pick analysis.

Here is this week's Cardinals Draft Board:

5. Boye Mafe - Edge, Minnesota

  • Did you guys know that sacking the quarterback is a good thing in the NFL? The Cardinals lost Chandler Jones and have done nothing to replace him. The good news is the draft is loaded with pass rushers this year; the bad news is 6-8 of them could be off the board by the time the Cardinals select at #23. Mafe is a big, fast physical freak - sound familiar? While instantly replacing Chandler Jones would be an awful lot to ask, Mafe could develop into that sooner rather than later

4. Zion Johnson - iOL, Boston College

  • There's nothing more boring in the first round than selecting an interior offensive lineman. Cardinals fans are still processing their draft trauma from the Jonathan Cooper selection in Steve Keim's first year in 2013 but nearly a decade later they should warm up to the idea of trying again. With Justin Pugh hanging on by a thread and RG being a complete mystery, Johnson would check a lot of boxes.

3. Devonta Wyatt - DL, Georgia

  • One of the sneaky truths is that the Cardinals are woefully thin at DL. They've spent multiple draft picks on the position in the past few years as well as big free agent dollars but in true Steve Keim fashion, haven't really solved anything. Wyatt would transform the line and the Cardinals defense.

2. Chris Olave - WR, Ohio State

  • Olave arguably makes the Cardinals better the most next year. He ran routes and produced at Ohio State like he was already and NFL veteran. The Packers Davante Adams trade probably eliminated any real chance of the Cardinals snagging Olave as Aaron Rodgers would likely demand Green Bay select him one spot before Arizona but a guy can dream in early April.

1. Jameson Williams - WR, Alabama

  • I fully expect Williams to be off this list before the draft as his stock will surely climb as we near the actual day. Williams is exactly what the Cardinals need now and in the future: a deep threat to complement DeAndre Hopkins and also a future replacement for DeAndre Hopkins.
