She is Miss Arizona’s Outstanding Teen. But rewind ten years and fourteen homes ago, and truly no one could have seen that coming.
Dimon Sanders is a CASA success story. She is one of the many success stories, but Dimon’s path is unique because of how much she resisted the help. She was abused by her birth father and placed in the Arizona ’system’ at the age of eight. Dimon then bounced from foster home to group home to foster home and had zero consistency or motivation in life. In came her CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) around the age of nine. Little did she know it, especially because she pushed against it, but her CASA would change her life forever.
It does no justice to write her story for you. Just listen to how positive and how uplifting she is when telling her story. And remember, this is a girl who lived some very dark and helpless days. It was her CASA who pushed her beyond what she could see possible, helped her through unsuccessful adoptions and stuck by Dimon when others failed her. Bottom line, Dimon’s CASA never wavered in helping her through tough times and pushing her further in the good times.
