Kyler Murray's preseason debut is tonight. Arizona is excited and we all should be but is Kyler Murray the most anticipated debut in Phoenix sports history?
Here are a few flashbacks to same names who were for all different reasons also super hyped.
Max Scherzer
Dbacks first round pick in 2006 debuted early in 2008 and made a pretty big impact flashing all the things that would turn him into a CY Young winner.

Justin Upton
J-Up as he would come to be known was the first ever number one overall pick in the history of Arizona sports back in 2005. He would debut in 2007 in the middle of the Dbacks race to the NLCS that season.
August 2-3 2007: 0-5 in first two games
He would eventually get his first hit the third game of his career
Matt Leinart
The closest thing to Kyler Murray's hype was probably the lefty out of USC who was the 10th overall pick in 2006. The epitome of the pretty boy, flashy, Heisman trophy winner was supposed to bring the Cardinals to prominence unfortunately he got beat out in camp by a 35 year Kurt Warner.
Kurt was so ineffective that Leinart made his debut four games into the 2006 season.

Josh Rosen
Josh is all but a memory now as he embarks on his second NFL season in Miami, The 10th overall pick in 2018 debuted in week three against the Bears in relief of Sam Bradford.

Max Domi
The Coyotes at one point tried to make Max Domi the face of their franchise, he was a much ballyhooed first round pick in 2013 and his debut at the NHL level was pretty successful when he opened up thr Coyotes 2015 campaign on the road in LA.

Charles Barkley
The 1992-93 NBA MVP's debut with the Phoenix Suns was legit as heck. Jerry Colangelo swung the deal in the offseason to acquire one of the members of the 1992 dream team from Philadelphia and Charles immediately made his impact in the valley.
