What should we expect from Arizona State football this season?

The Arizona State Sun Devils kickoff their second season of the Herm Edwards era on Thursday when they host Kent State. Herm’s first season came as a bit of a surprise to many as the Sun Devils were in contention for a South division title until a loss on the road to Oregon derailed those hopes.

In year two ASU will be without team captain Manny Wilkins and star WR N’Keal Harry But will be returning most of their defense, RB Eno Benjamin & for the first time in school history will be starting a true-freshman Quarterback in the 4-star dual threat Jayden Daniels. How does the national media see ASU finishing 2019?

Bleacher Report thinks ASU struggles and has them finishing fifth in the south, winning only three conference games.

The CBS sports panel of PAC 12 insiders is more split. Their panel of 7 has the Sun Devils finishing as low as fifth and as high as second in the south.

ESPN projects a .500 season for ASU with a 4-5 conference record and finally the PAC 12 media predicted a third place finish. As for the fans? The Athletic’s Doug Haller put out a twitter poll to gauge expectations.
