Are the Lakers the worst team in the West?
Last night, the Suns had one of their best performances of the season completing the season sweep against the league leading Milwaukee Bucks.
Deandre Ayton went toe to toe with the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo and won. Ayton is one of the few human beings on the planet who can match Giannis’s combination of size, power and skill. But too often in his rookie year, Ayton has looked less like a Greek God and more like Greek tragedy on defense.
Not last night. Ayton led the way with a dominant defensive effort overall and a masterful job of containing Giannis.
Offensively, he did his usual and helped the Suns battle back several times before eventually getting a win in the closing minutes.
Meanwhile in Laker Land, Lebron has led to more gifs than wins lately.
A few nights ago in Phoenix, he briefly switched brains with JaVale McGee.
Last night, he scooped up a rolling ball off the court and clanked a three.
Later, he had to be forcefully pushed by 2nd year man Kyle Kuzma to step out and contest a jump shot.
And to add insult to injury, he was serenaded on his home court with “We Want Kobe” chants from Laker faithful during a costly loss to the cross town Clippers, who traded their best player 3 weeks ago.
8 months ago Lebron James joined the Lakers. 48 hours ago, ESPN reported that the Suns owner had a farm animal placed in his GM’s office and it pooped.
Yet right at this moment, it's good to be the Suns.
